On 7 October 2026, colleagues from Turners Funeral Service were invited to attend the unveiling of Denaby United Junior Football Club Under-9s’ new football kit for the 2026/27 season, proudly sponsored by the branch.
Funeral Manager Leanne joined players, coaches and families for the official team photographs before being invited to take part in additional photos with the team. The event celebrated the partnership and highlighted the importance of supporting local sport and community initiatives.
A particularly memorable moment came when Leanne was unexpectedly presented with a framed team shirt as a thank you from the club. The shirt now takes pride of place in the Conisbrough branch as a reminder of the positive impact community partnerships can have.
Supporting local groups is especially important when they provide opportunities for young people to develop teamwork, discipline and confidence. Denaby United JFC offers children the chance to enjoy sport in a well-established club environment, guided by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about their community.
For the team at Turners, the most rewarding aspect of the sponsorship is giving back to the community they serve and helping create opportunities for local young people to thrive.
